Cote Charity
Katherine House is part of the Cote Charity, which over the past forty years has provided retirement housing and a range of care options for older people in Bristol. The charity was founded in 1955 by Miss Katherine Gotch Robinson, who bought Cote House at Westbury-on-Trym in Bristol and turned it into flats for older residents.
In 1968 the Society of Merchant Venturers were appointed as Cote Charity's Trustee, bringing to the charity the Society's experience and resources in providing care for older people. Katherine House was opened in late 2009.
The work undertaken by the Cote Charity is also supported by The Grateful Society. This benevolent organisation provides valuable resources and funds, enhancing the care provided to residents by Katherine House.

Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission recently inspected Katherine House and found us to be compliant in all areas, awarding us, in August 2019, with a 'GOOD' CQC care rating in Safe, Effective, Caring and Well led, and OUTSTANDING in Responsive. We are proud to provide excellent care and always strive to make residents and their relatives comfortable and welcome. You can view the online report here
