GRIFFITH HOUSE - Specialist, residential care for those living with dementia

Griffiths House is a brand new, purpose built, eight-bed residential care home providing specialist dementia care. Opened in June 2016 it is located adjacent to Katherine House which was built in 2009 to offer professional, residential care for up to 41 residents.

Tucked away from surrounding main roads and benefiting from stunning views over the Bristol Channel, Griffiths House has been thoughtfully designed to provide a warm, safe and secure environment for people living with dementia.

Using sustainable materials and the latest technology, its innovative design offers well-equipped private bedrooms, each with an en-suite wet room and individually colour-coded doors to promote the recognition of surroundings. A bright and welcoming communal lounge, a fully-equipped kitchen and a small salon that offers hairdressing and other therapeutic treatments, make Griffiths House a home-from-home that provides comfort and calm, alongside expert, professional care.

Open space and an ambience of tranquillity are echoed in the exterior grounds where Griffiths House shares beautifully landscaped gardens with Katherine House.

Griffiths House is led by experienced care home manager, Vivienne Withers who oversees an excellent specialist dementia care team, offering a person-centred yet holistic approach to residents' care with a particular emphasis on trust, empathy, respect and kindness.

Each resident is supported to retain their individual identity. A daily activity programme will be developed to stimulate social interaction and help build purposeful relationships. We welcome input from family and friends to ensure that each resident has a programme tailored uniquely for their benefit.

Both Griffiths House and Katherine House are part of the Cote Charity which is supported by its Trustee, the Society of Merchant Venturers, advocates for excellent standards of care for the elderly.
