Happy New Year doesn't seem so appropriate now as we are in February, but I guess we can all still hope for a happy 2019! For anyone not aware, we have been involved in a project to promote community engagement for the last couple of years;
because the project has now come to an end, the residents were asked if they would like to have a party to celebrate. And of course, everyone said 'yes please!' The party was funded by Bristol Ageing Better and supported by the charity Alive. We celebrated Burns Night with a fun filled party in the morning.
The residents were served Hod Toddys and Shortbread which certainly raised a few smiles! We read poetry by Robert Burns and sang along to traditional Scottish music. We finished the morning with our own interpretation of Highland Fling dancing and we all joined hands for 'Auld Lang Syne'.
